I T Nuusbrief van die Waternavorsingskommissie Newsletter of the Water Research Commission AUGUSTUS/AUGUST 1984 Irrigation contract for Sovenga: PIVOT, SCHEDULING STUDIED 'The adequacy of the Republic's water resources in years to come will largely depend on what savings can be achieved in irrigation farming.' This was said by Mr David van der Merwe, chief adviser at the Water Research Commission, when he signed a contract on behalf of the chairman of the WRC with the University of the North. The research contract was officially signed at Sovenga on 26 June 1984 and pertains to a project entitled: 'Practical scheduling of irrigation in the Northern Transvaal'.
