3 July 2002346 Available on website Comments on: “Measurement of pH, alkalinity and acidity in ultra-soft waters” by Lahav O, Morgan BE and Loewenthal RE (Water SA 27 (4) 423-432) This paper is an excellent contribution to the laboratory aspects of the problem of these measurements in low alkalinity waters. For more than 30 years I too have grappled with this problem, from both a research perspective and a pragmatic approach more suited to a water quality treatment and monitoring laboratory.
