Abstract
National survey highlights how tanneries have stepped up their water game The WRC’s association with the tanning and leather-finishing industry dates back to 1977, when it began funding surveys and treatment trials on tannery wastewaters. This was at a time when the tanneries were struggling to meet increasingly stringent standards for discharging effluent into natural watercourses or municipal sewers.
